OxbowCrush

OxbowCrush is a soy processing company located in Greenwood, MS. It is a large industrial plant that processes soybeans into soybean oil and soybean meal. The site is located right on the Yazoo River which inspired the use of "Oxbow" in the name. The "Crush" portion of the name refers to the process of crushing soybeans into meal and oil. An oxbow is defined as a U-shaped lake or pool that forms when a wide meander of a river is cut off, creating a free-standing body of water. I wanted to distill an oxbow into a timeless minimal icon. The circular shape is a subtle nod to the rounded form of soybeans.
